Em Chamas - $15 for a $50 dollar gift certificate!!
Morgan's Deals is another great website I often check for deals around the Kansas City area. TODAY ONLY (2/18/11) they have a $50 gift certificate to Em Chamas for $25. Last week in the mail I received a coupon with the code KCVP to use for an additional $10 off... making the total just $15 bucks!! You can't beat that price, so I wanted to share the deal with you all. Happy Dining!! :)

share the wealth!
Today one of my co-workers, Marietta, gave me a brilliant idea - a coupon exchange box for the office! Why didn't I think of that!? Her suggestion was to make a box were people can take coupons and also leave coupons for others. A few of us already swap them, often using inner office mail, when we know others are looking for something particular, but it can some times take a few days to deliver. With a box always in the same location, more people can participate and a larger variety of coupons can be shared... Plus, I have clients and visitors to my cube on a daily basis, so perhaps other individuals will notice it, add their coupons to the mix and spread the word around the office.
It's hard to tell from the photo, but I recycled an old box we had around to create a collection area. Inside the lid I used the banner from the blog to put in a shameless plug for the site and on the bottom I put a label that says "Take a coupon. Leave a coupon. Happy Shopping!" Yes, I realize it's cheesy... I'll have to come up with something more creative/attractive later on, but it serves it's purpose for now.
In addition to our newly created coupon box, our company also has an Entertainment Book group. Individuals who participate have all purchased a 2011 book and turned in a list of their coupon "wishes" into one person, who creates a single excel spread sheet with what everyone wants and emails it out to the group members. Then you go through your book, comparing the coupons you won't use to what others need and swap them. The biggest money making coupons I've gotten from participating have been several "$5 of a $50 dollar purchase" to Price Chopper. I shop there on a weekly basis (using other coupons of course) and then add this to my total savings at the end!! What a great deal for only a few minutes of clipping time.
